Strontium 300 mg 100 caps

Strontium is of proven value in the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis and is available on NHS prescription for this purpose. The problem with the NHS prescribeable version is that it is made up with aspartame - a toxic sweetener. Indeed, this preparation has been associated with a risk of thrombo-embolism  - most likely that is an effect of aspartame, which has been linked to such. There is no biologically plausible mechanism by which strontium could cause osteoporosis. See Osteoporosis - practical nutritional considerations

Studies show that strontium 300mgs daily is effective, 600mgs daily even more so.

As important in the prevention of osteoporosis is vitamin D. The above should be taken in addition to the Basic Package of supplements and a stone-age diet.

To increase bone density Verified Purchase

Strontium Citrate Verified Purchase

This is easy to take, late in the evening, with a glass of water. I've been taking it for four months now in the expectation that it will influence my bone density and help preserve and even upgrade my skeletal strength. I was prescribed Strontium Ranelate for three years to reduce the potential for fractures, given my Osteoporosis diagnosis; however, despite scans indicating a dramatic improvement in my bone density status,SrRan was removed from the list of approved drugs. I am well aware that Strontium Citrate is not a drug, and lacks the potential to strengthen the outer 'casing' of bone, but clinical research indicates that it does 'fill in the holes'. If my next scan, due in 17 months' time, shows an improvement, then my four star rating will become 5*.

Help with Bone Density

Deborah Hudson | Brighton | October 2023

These work!

I started on these capsules 2 years ago during which time we were in lockdown . When I had my bone density test done in Dec 2021 my bone density in spine had improved by 6.5% and at the hip by 6.8% . A major difference. I have been in the gym over the last 20 years doing back extensions and other bone density exercises and had improved the hip joint back into osteopenia but my spine altho' improved was at -2.9. Strontium has got my back up to -2.5 I Even if the figure needs to be halved because strontium is heavierthan calcium its is still a big difference and I am extremely pleased with the results. I was obviously deficient in strontium. I would add that I have been an exercise teacher for 38 years and until 1999 had no osteopenia or osteoporosis. Then came a badly broken ankle which finished aerobics and running. I am looking forward to the next scan in 2023 as if it improves more my travel insurance for skiing will come down quite dramatically!
